Charles Squire, aged 35, guilty of famishing, starving, killing and murdering James Green, his apprentice in the parish of Wolverhampton between 14th February 1798 and 12th February 1799.  During that time, according to the indictment, Charles and his wife, Hannah, beat the boy from time to time with a hair brush and a red hot iron; bound him to a beam in their shop with a hempen rope and used to leave him there for a long time; kept the boy without sufficient clothing; neglected and refused to give and administer to him sufficient meat and drink and nourishment, so that he died on 12th February 1799.
